Braced by the gorgeous Arabian Sea, and crisscrossed by the famous backwaters, Alleppey is the ideal tourist destination. The Alleppey backwaters are also famously known for its spectacular and super-exciting annual snake canoe boat races. The event is held in the second Saturday every August. Each of the snake canoe boats is manned by over a hundred hands and they glide through water truly with the agility of the fastest snake. This one of a kind event is an exciting tourist attraction in Alleppey.
